• Year One Family Learning

  Year One Family Learning

It has been wonderful to welcome our Year 1 parents and carers into school for another Family Learning session this week. These special mornings each Wednesday provide a lovely opportunity for families to learn alongside their children, discover more about what they are learning in school and share in the joy of their achievements.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us – your support and partnership make such a positive difference to your child’s learning journey. I can already see the difference this is making to your child’s outcomes, behaviour, progress and learning.

If any Year 1 family member wishes to join please see Mrs Coldman.

• Mini-Vinnie Commissioning Service at Leeds Cathedral

  Wed 23 Sep 2026

A particular joy for Miss Leonard was accompanying a group of our Year 6 Mini Vinnies to Leeds Cathedral for a special commissioning service with the Diocese of Leeds. She was incredibly proud to see our children representing St Anthony’s and making their commitment to serving others. Our Mini Vinnies are wonderful examples of this week’s Gospel message, putting their faith into action through love, compassion and kindness. Our Mini-Vinnies are members of our community who have volunteered to serve our school and community.

"Charity is the cement which binds communities to God and persons to one another" St Vincent De Paul

Our Mini-Vinnies now hope to work together in faith and love, reaching out to those who need our care and support. In doing so, our children are reminded that, as we grow together on our journey with Jesus, we are called not only to speak of our faith, but to live it through our actions.

• Altar Serving Training with Father Hilton

  Thu 17 Sep 2026

  Altar Server Training

I was very proud of a group of our KS2 pupils who have volunteered to serve as Altar Servers at school masses. Father Hilton kindly shared a training session for us on Tuesday, and some of our pupils served for the first time for school in our whole school mass yesterday. We hope they continue to serve with faith, kindness and reverence.

• Mass of Welcome

  Thu 17 Sep 2026

Whole School Mass of Welcome Father Hilton warmly invited us all to mass yesterday to celebrate the start of the academic year. We give thanks to our wonderful school and all its members, as well as our parish community. As a family of faith we look forward to a successful year ahead.

• Mark 10 Mission Day

  Mon 14 Sep 2026

Mission Day On Monday, we had a most spiritual day led by Greg from Mission 10. He helped us to explore Collective Worship together, both as a whole school and by visiting each of our classes. All the children showed such faith, respect and learnt so much about extending their leadership of prayer. God bless you all! I can’t wait to see our children further their child led collective worship skills over the coming months.
