Week 14 & 15
"The Art of Being a Human"
Week 2 Updated Maths tasks are now available. Keep a look out on Google Classroom today for an update and also a lesson for you to take part in!
For the next two weeks, your focus will be all about the body and mind. I hope you find this topic inspiring and exciting as there is so much to explore! Please see the Maths section for details about the Fluency Phases - I have uploaded the supporting Powerpoints for these within the class documents below.
Google Classroom
Well done to all of you who have logged on to the Google Classroom platform and have been sharing your work and thoughts. It has been wonderful to see all of the incredible things you are completing at home. Keep an eye out for new posts on the Google Platform each day during the week...beginning with Monday, where a new video will be posted! It was super to see some of you sharing your work via a video call with myself last week too!
Keep shining brightly Year 2...I miss you all so much and I am so proud of all the work you are doing at home!

Week 14 & 15
Week 12 & 13- Inspirational People
Our learning for the next two weeks is all around 'Inspirational People'. I hope you enjoy exploring this topic as much as I did putting it together for you! We have inspirational people all around us...and it is sometimes good to take a step back and say thank you for all of the incredible work in which they do.
This week on Times Table Rockstars, I have set a Tournament of Year 2 vs Year 3. Last time you all did so amazingly well and we won the Tournament...I can't wait to see who logs on this time to work towards our class score! Well done to all of you for continuing to try so hard!
Enjoy completing your tasks over the next two weeks!

Week 12 & 13
Week 10 & 11
Times Table Rockstars
Well done to all pupils who have been logging on weekly to develop their fluency with times tables. Last week, only 9 Year 2 pupils logged on and I would love to see this grow this week! Recalling key number facts is a crucial way of developing mathematical fluency and seeing connections between numbers.
Take a look at the new challenge I have set for you all on this weeks Curriculum Consolidation task sheet.
I can't wait to see how many of you have logged in this week...you are all amazing and can achieve such wonderful things!
Keep up the superb effort
Amazing Animals
Our learning theme for the next two weeks is all about animals! I really hope that you enjoy discovering more about the amazing creatures that live in our world. I check the Twitter page every single day to see who has been sharing their home learning and the photographs make me so proud of you all. I have also uploaded the new spelling list for Summer 2, under the 'Spellings' tab via the Year 2 class page.
Keep up the wonderful work Year 2!

Week 8
Hello Year 2
I hope you and your families are feeling healthy, happy and safe. I have really enjoyed looking at all of your fabulous home learning efforts via the school Twitter page (StAnthonysLeeds). It put a massive smile on my face to see lots of you doing wonderful activities at home, such as singing for the Maximilian Kolbe Choir, creating wonderful UK themed artwork, super maths work (featuring Yorkshire puddings!) and lots of work inspired by the "Amazing" video...to name only a few! I feel like the luckiest teacher in the world to have a class full of little superstars! I have now uploaded the new tasks for the next 2 weeks. I hope you continue to be inspired to find out lots of information and facts. Keep posting your super pictures and trying hard, as you always do! There are lots of examples of your super work on our class page under the 'Well Done' link.
Missing you all!

Week 4 Curriculum Consolidation
Dear Year 2,
I hope that you all have enjoyed a blessed Easter with your families. Easter is such a special time for us all both in and out of school. Although we have not celebrated in our usual style of collective worships, reflections and our famous Easter bonnet/garden competitions...I know that we are all able to celebrate together in prayer. I pray that each and every one of you and your family members are safe and healthy this Easter.
I have uploaded a new curriculum consolidation task for you all based on our wonderful Geography topic! As usual, I know that you will make your parents so proud in your completion of these activities. It has been wonderful to see so many of you sharing images via the @StAnthonysLeeds Twitter page too!
I really am missing you all so much! Keep safe

I can see that lots of you are completing the tasks I have set for you via Mathletics...well done! I am tracking all of your activity and I am smiling at your super scores - keep it up! I will be setting new challenges via Mathletics for next week. I am certain that you are all showing your parents how hard working you are
This week, I have set you a task all about plants. I know that in class we enjoyed singing lots of songs together about plants and I know that your enthusiasm for learning will be continuing at home.
