St Anthony's Catholic Primary School

Growing together on a journey with Jesus

Welcome

Headteacher Welcome

Thank you for visiting our school website. If you are one of our amazing parents, I do hope you enjoy visiting and seeing our incredible school in action. If you are a prospective parent, my hope is that you can see St Anthony's being an extension of your family in the years to come. If you are passing by, you are very welcome and I hope you enjoy sharing the very best of St Anthony's!

My name is Miss Leonard, and I am privileged to have been the head teacher of St Anthony’s for the last fourteen years. As a former pupil of this outstanding Catholic Primary School, I am especially proud to now be its head teacher. St Anthony's is an incredibly special place to belong, and the impact of St Anthony's ripples all across our Diocese and beyond. Our results have been on a continuously high trend of performance as we continue to strive for a culture of excellence and impact. We endeavour to bring our curriculum alive through quality first hand experiences within an inspiring faith-focused curriculum.

We have been inspected for both our Section 48 (2022) and Ofsted (2024) inspections and received outstanding grades in each; a true reflection of the quality education and the curriculum of excellence that happens each and every day in our school.  We are a National Support School, recognised by the Department for Education as a school that can support others to achieve the same high standards. Our school is fortunate to be led by a National Leader of Education, and our teaching staff comprises five specialist leaders of education, highlighting the quality of staffing at the school for the benefit of all our pupils. I was awarded a Fellowship for the Chartered College of Teaching as a reward for my exceptional contribution to education both at St Anthony's and beyond. I am blessed with a team of innovative and captivating teachers who make learning fun.

We are an “oasis in the community” of Beeston and St Anthony’s parish, and we are proud of our continued success. Ofsted commented that "Leaders work as ‘ambassadors for learning’ in order to raise the importance of education across the whole school community and improve the life chances of pupils who attend St Anthony’s". They continued ... "Pupils love coming to St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School. They feel safe and happy here. Leaders and staff have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and attitudes. Staff build excellent relationships with pupils and their families from their earliest starting points in Reception. Staff are experts in showing pupils how to be polite and inclusive. Pupils rise to these high expectations. Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary."

We have amazing pupils, staff, parents and governors at St Anthony’s and we all share a belief that God will guide us to achieve everything we are capable of, and more! Everyone achieves their hopes and dreams at St Anthony’s ! I hope you enjoy visiting our website and I hope to meet you very soon.
