Roman Adventures in Year 3
Fri 22 May 2026Roman adventures
Our Year 3 class have been bringing alive their knowledge and understanding on Romans. During a "Roman" day visit, actors led our pupils through immersive sessions where they acted out historical events, learnt about the Roman invasion of Britain, handled replicas, and explored ancient daily life.
I know Mr Whittle and Mrs Cecil were fully immersed in the drama of the day, and the children certainly showed their immense historical knowledge. Ask them all about it!

Good Shepherd Mass - May 2026 at Leeds Cathedral
Thu 21 May 2026Good Shepherd
I was blessed to accompany three children to The Good Shepherd Mass at Leeds Cathedral. This was led by Bishop Marcus and attended by schools across the Diocese of Leeds in celebration of The Year of St Francis of Assisi.
Henry Blasket (Year 6), Emily Kehoe (Year 5) and Matilda Kehoe (Year 3) represented St Anthony’s and proudly presented a cheque for £683.00 from our Lenten fundraising. Bishop Marcus expressed his thanks to us all.
During Mass, Bishop Marcus reminded us that through our Lenten fundraising we are mirroring God’s preferential love for the poorest and most vulnerable people, jus tlike St Francis. May we all be blessed for our charitable works and our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching Principles.

LUFC NFL Event
Mon 23 Mar 2026Year 6 have been fortunate to be invited to lead on a project with Leeds United, having weekly PE lessons on Flag Football as part of the Unlocking Potential Programme. The programme hosted a celebration event at Leeds Beckett University and invited our Year 6 class to take part. along with attendees from the San Francisco 49ers and NFL Foundation.
The session featured a variety of activities, including mini-tournaments designed to encourage participation and skill development. The event was a true celebration of sport, inclusion, and opportunity, and a powerful step forward in unlocking potential across Leeds.
Special congratulations to Stella Yeboah and Oliver Drewery (Year 6) who were each awarded a special trophy at the event as a mark of their potential and effort in the tournament.
Well done Year 6!
