Growing together on a journey with Jesus

Football training:

Mr Whittle's football training takes place every Friday, from 3pm until 4pm. Training is open to all boys in Year 5 and 6 in preparation for league and cup matches.

Our school runs football training for our girl's team each Thursday evening 3pm - 4pm.

Mr Groundwelll runs football training sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for our KS2 and KS1 pupils.

A variety of inter and intra school competitions take part each Tuesday and Wednesday evening with a sports coaching company funded through a sports lottery fund. This is hoped to begin again late in the Autumn term once a grant is secured for this academic year.

Our Under 10 football team are consistently league winners for the South since 2015. Below, our team  played St Theresa's to battle for Champion of Champion's title. They were beaten by St Theresa's but remain proud of being placed second place in the city. Well done boys!

The big kick-off for 2013-14

The new season has brought with it mixed fortunes for our football teams so far this year. The Under 11's have showed plenty of fighting spirit, but are currently winless  in the league after three games.

Under 11's:

St. Anthony's 2 v 3 Holy Family

Christ the King 1 v 0 St. Anthony's

Shire Oak 5 v 3 St. Anthony's

The Under 11's also participated in the ESFA 7-a-side competition at St. Theresa's. Once again, the team battled courageously, but narrowly missed out on qualification for the quarter-finals after winning one, drawing one and losing two.

The girl's football team were very impressive in a recent rally at Garforth Academy. They won two, drew one and lost one of their four games to give Mr Kearney plenty of optimism for the season ahead.

Finally, the Under 9's were very impressive in a 6-1 victory over Holy Family and a 1-1 draw with St. Theresa's.

There are games for all of our teams in November as the children continue to develop their skills, as well as their understanding of the game.
